Student needing ADHD support

It is not uncommon for students that struggle academically to also struggle with attention and focus. At times, a diagnosis of ADHD may be identified. Other times, anxiety may lead to difficulty focusing. Students with these types of challenges may also struggle with executive functioning skills, such as time management, organization, planning, and study skills.

Working with a Learning Specialist, sometimes referred to as an Academic Coach, students are guided to create systems that help provide structure, accountability, and preparation for success. Teaching students to think about their own thinking, or metacognition, guides students to better understand how they can be in control and focused on their own goals towards success.
