Tutoring with personalized learning plans

Engage the Brain works with students, families, educators, and schools to help all types of learners master their ability to think, learn, and grow. At times, learning can be challenging. Engage the Brain provides personalized instruction that taps directly into a student’s area of weakness, while recognizing a student’s strengths.

Whether demonstrating characteristics of a specific learning disability or struggling with attention or confidence, our students rediscover a love of learning.

Our instructional focus is about the whole child. Relationships are key in order to build trust and an opportunity to grow. Using a student's strengths, our Learning Specialists create multisensory, emotionally-sound, personalized learning plans that provide opportunities for students to build trust and grow within their own learning. Students experience not only academic growth but also newfound perseverance and confidence.

Our multisensory instructional approaches are considered appropriate for all types of learners, and are gold-standards for students with language-based learning differences, such as dyslexia and dysgraphia.

Our Learning Specialists are expertly trained in science-based instructional approaches such as Orton-Gillingham, Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, Multisensory Math, and other science-based programs. "Wounded students" that struggle with executive functioning skills, such as time management, organization, planning, and study skills, will work with a trained specialist to better understand time and how organization can actually assist with that overwhelming, anxious feeling. We want our students to be in control of their assignments instead of feeling like their assignments are controlling them.

According to our EtB families, some of the primary benefits of working with EtB are:

  • Explicit, personalized, and prescribed lessons for each learner
  • Multisensory instruction that involves repetition, opportunity, and feedback
  • Building a trusting relationship with a personal Learning Specialist
to allow for growth, opportunity, and risk-taking
  • Ongoing and supportive communication for parents, teachers, and other providers
  • Confidence in attempting tasks that were once thought of as difficult

EtB has served the greater Orlando area since 2010.
