Engage the Brain is looking for a Math Learning Specialist enthusiastic about teaching mathematics to join our team of passionate educators. As a learning specialist, you will provide individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs and abilities. You will also collaborate with other specialists and teachers to ensure the best outcomes for our students.
Responsibilities:
- Assess students' academic strengths and weaknesses and design personalized learning plans
- Implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to help students achieve their academic goals
- Monitor and document students' progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other specialists
- Participate in professional development and team meetings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education, or a related field
- Experience working with students with all types of learning abilities, including those with social/emotional challenges
- Training and experience in teaching mathematics through grade 8 or higher using an explicit, cognitively guided, and using a multisensory approach.
- Availability to grow your schedule to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, including two afternoons per week (4:00 pm - 6:00 pm)
-Ability to work in person at our office in Maitland, Florida, nearby schools, students' homes, and possibly virtually through Zoom

About the position:

- Hourly pay based on experience, starting at $32/student contact hour, with an opportunity for growth

Engage the Brain is an academic learning center that provides individualized and evidence-based instruction to students of all ages and abilities. We are looking for a qualified and passionate speech/language pathologist to join our team and help our students achieve their academic and communication goals.
As a speech/language pathologist at Engage the Brain, you will:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of students' speech, language, and communication skills
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on students' needs and goals
- Provide direct speech/language therapy or reading intervention services to students in person at our center, at nearby schools, or at students' homes
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers, tutors, psychologists, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers about students' progress and recommendations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of students' records, reports, and billing
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A master's degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited program
- A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) OR a be a Clinical Fellowship (CF) working toward a Certificate of Clinical Competence
- A valid license to practice speech-language pathology in the state of Florida
- Minimum of 12 hours per week, with at least 2 afternoons (3:00 PM - 6:00 PM)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- A positive attitude and a willingness to think, learn, and grow
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working with students with learning disabilities, dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs
- Training in structured literacy approaches, such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, or Lindamood-Bell
- Familiarity with online platforms and tools for tele-therapy

EtB is searching for a knowledgeable, caring, and experienced Occupational Therapist (OT), Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs), or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and Learning Specialist for one-on-one sessions.
Occupational Therapy (OT) Pediatric OT focuses on helping children and teens develop the skills they need to become functional and independent adults. When working with children, occupational therapists use purposeful activities to assist children in performing their childhood “occupations” of play, socializing, and learning. Using play-based activities to motivate children, OT helps to improve fine motor, cognitive, sensory processing, play, academic and social/emotional health. Engage the Brain is seeking an Occupational Therapist interested in incorporating academics into therapy sessions. This includes reading and math activities.
Occupational Therapists will have a combination of knowledge (certification, licensure, endorsement, degrees, training), experience (therapy/teaching/tutoring), and connection (ability to connect with students and team in a caring and supportive manner).
A Must: Excellent interpersonal skills, a proven love for teaching/therapy, motivation, and creativity are essential for success.
Responsibilities:
- Recognize that the primary role is to help students build confidence, access information, and grow academically
- Promotes maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to an individual’s physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest.
- Provide therapy in accordance with EtB’s philosophy and methodologies
- Embrace different learning abilities and create a professional environment by modeling respect for each type of learner
- Understand and utilize a direct instructional, personalized approach to teaching and therapy- Utilize feedback and reflection to improve one's practice
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Participate in professional development activities to improve instructional approaches and understanding of child learning development.
- Respond to communications to and from clients and staff (emails, text, phone) within 24 hours
- Contact assigned students’ contact person (by email, text, phone) within 48 hours of receiving the assignment
Educational Background & Work Experience:
- Bachelors Degree - 4 Years
- License and/or Certification:
- OTR/L or COTA credential
- Minimum of one (1) year of professional practice experience in a professional work environment with people with disabilities
- Familiarity with learning differences, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia, preferred
- Familiarity with systems to improve executive functioning
- Formal training in explicit, direct instructional methods preferred
- Strong desire to use creative lessons for students with various learning profiles
- Familiarity with public and private school settings preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
Availability: Our Learning Specialist provides services at our office (Maitland, FL), in-home, in-school, or virtual sessions. Specialists must be able to reliably meet with students for 45-60 minute sessions during assigned hours. The ideal candidate will provide 15 - 35 hours/week (planning & service hours). Flexible schedule. Specialists can complete virtual and off-site sessions at convenient and reliable locations.
This position is a year-round position, starting in March 2024. Please indicate your availability in your letter of interest.
Assignment/Pay: EtB will find Specialists’ clients and manage all administrative tasks. We provide Specialists with detailed information about the student and family before each assignment. We offer a competitive hourly rate or, depending on commitment, a competitive salary and schedule flexibility. Our specialists are employees who can earn paid time off and holiday benefits.

Location: EtB works with students in-person (office, school, home) or virtually.
Training: Depending on the level of commitment, various instructional trainings, including Orton-Gillingham, are provided to all EtB employees. Additional professional development dollars are provided as a benefit to being an employee of EtB.
Materials & Support: Extensive support, materials, and feedback are provided to EtB employees. Regular check-ins with support staff are available and expected. Our team leaders offer prompt responses to specialists’ questions.

- Able to analyze and adjust lessons according to a learner’s needs
- Flexibility to gradually build your schedule, including at least two afternoons (4:00 PM - 6:00 PM) a week
Responsibilities:
- Assess a learner’s academic strengths and weaknesses and design personalized learning plans

- Communicate effectively with learners, parents, teachers, and other professionals regarding the learner’s progress, goals, and needs

- Participate in continued learning opportunities, such as professional development and team meetings
- Proven ability to design and implement individualized learning plans based on student needs. Ability to read and create lessons based on evaluations
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and the progression of skills and content taught depending on readiness
Preferred:
- Orton-Gillingham Trained
- Understanding of Structured Literacy and the Science of Reading
- Trained in multisensory math
- Understanding of cognitively guided instruction
- Understanding of explicit teaching strategies to teach writing and reading
- Ability to teach and support learners needing executive functioning assistance
- Experience working with students who have social/emotional challenges
About the position:

- The schedule will build over time, with the goal of increasing to 25-30 student hours per week. Must be initially available to work at least two afternoons per week
