Engage the Brain is excited to launch a new quarterly initiative called Community Connections, where we’ll invite local experts to share valuable tools and insights with parents, educators, and professionals on how to support learners in strengthening executive functioning skills and mental focus.

Open to the Community.  Ideal for parents of students in grade 6 and above.  Educators and professionals working with students are also welcome.  Adult-Preferred Event.

Expert Guest Speaker:  Allison Slater Tate, As a college consultant and a counselor at an independent college preparatory school, Allison advises students and their families to help them find college homes where they will thrive and grow.  She is a writer, mom of four, and author of the viral Huffington Post essay, “The Mom Stays in the Picture,” which garnered over six million views and was translated into three languages. A graduate of Princeton University with a degree in English and American Studies, she previously worked in television, film, and musical theater. She now shares her relatable stories of navigating life and motherhood in suburbia, reminding us to find the extraordinary in the ordinary.
