8:30am – 3:30pm
This is the Classroom Educator 30-hour training led by Dawn Nieman, Fellow and Board Member of the Orton-Gillingham Academy. This training is designed for anyone interested in learning more about how to teach reading using explicit, emotionally-sound, and multi-sensory instruction. This training is a prerequisite to the next 30-hours of training, Associate Level. Certification by the Academy is a separate contract from this course.
Please note that this is a VIRTUAL TRAINING. YOU MUST ATTEND AT LEAST 24 (of the 30) LIVE HOURS TO BE AWARDED AN ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATE. Sessions will be recorded so you can view them again for review or to catch up on missed content. Attendees are expected to participate in assignments and quizzes.
Classroom Educator is geared toward small group settings should you wish to pursue practicum, whereas Associate Level (full 60 hours) allows for groups or one-on-one instructional settings.

Academy Guidelines and Expectations: Even though you are able to view the recordings, you may only miss 6 live hours. You will not be granted an attendance certificate if you are not present for at least 24 of the 30 live hours. ** Daily Review Quizzes, Final Exam, and Final Lesson Presentation expected.
